Nik Wallenda is a 7th generation member of the famous "Flying Wallenda Family". On Friday night, June 15, Wallenda braved unpredictable wind currents and incredible mists of water as he walked a two inch diameter cable 1800 feet across the Niagra Falls. He was the first man to ever accomplish this feat and it may never be done again.
"I hope what I do and what I just did inspires people around the world to reach for the skies," he said. "There was no way to focus on the movement of the cable," said Wallenda, 33. "If I looked down at the cable there was water moving everywhere. And if I looked up there was heavy mist blowing in front of my face. So it was a very unique, a weird sensation." He said he accomplished the feat through "a lot of praying, that's for sure. But, you know, it's all about the concentration, the focus, and the training." I believe that Nik did indeed pray a lot. He was heard praying to "Jesus, my Righteous King". That's the kind of praying I like to hear! This world needs to know that the God you believe in is the Most High, the High and Lofty One, the one and only Jesus Christ! In another interview Wallenda related the following details about his life... "I grew up in a born-again Christian family, a (B)ible-believing, God-fearing family," he told the Toronto Sun. "That's the way I was raised, and I find comfort and peace in that." Nik Wallenda walked on a two inch cable that separated him from time and eternity. He did it confidently knowing that if he fell he would be in the very presence of his Righteous King! You and I think that Nik leads a very dangerous life but every day we all walk a fine line between time and eternity. There are traffic accidents, work place accidents, deadly diseases and a multitude of other things that could take us from this world to the next. The Bible says our lives are but "vapours that appear for a little while and then vanish away". We all need the comfort and assurance of the incredible Nik Wallenda! We need Jesus to navigate the dangerous lives we lead. Have you come to Jesus for the forgiveness of sins?
