That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15
Pastor John Ricci is the pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He is a fearless defender of the free Grace position on the doctrine of salvation. Calvinism and Arminianism have both subtilty introduced works into the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Those doctrines present nothing new to the modern church.
Calvinists declare that if you do not persevere in good works and if you fall into sin after your decision to trust Christ then you were never a Christian in the first place. Arminians declare that if you fall into sin after you believe then you have lost that salvation and must regain it by recommitting your life to Christ. Both are heretical. The Bible tells us in the Gospel of John that the sole requirement to gain eternal life is to believe in Jesus Christ for it! The Bible also tells us that this "belief" is a one time event that has eternal benefits.
Aren't you glad that God so loved you and me that He made Heaven attainable through simple faith?
I have been reading a great book in my personal library. Actually, this is the third or fourth time I have read it and it just get's more profound every time I open it up. The book is So Great Salvation by Charles C. Ryrie.
In this book he does a great job of correctly defining what saving faith actually is and upon whom that faith should rest!
The proponents of Lordship Salvation have long used the tag of "pelagian" to ridicule anyone who refutes their "works plus Faith" Gospel. This video presents the argument that Pelagian himself did not introduce any new theology. He was not a heretic and he would have been identified with "free Grace" teachers today.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. 1 Timothy 1:16
A teenage girl and her son-to-be A simple trip far as they could see The sky was clear and the hour serene But did they know what the night would bring?
Lonely hearts strung across the land They've been waiting long for a healing hand My heart was there and I felt the chill When love came down and the earth stood still When love came down and the earth stood still
Shepherds stirred under starry skies Tasting grace that would change their lives The angels trembled and the demons did too For they knew very well what pure grace would do
The hope of the world and a baby boy I remember Him well like I was there that night My heart was there and I felt the chill Love came down and the earth stood still Love came down and the earth stood still Love came down and the earth stood still
