Hollywood and the mainstream news are continually pushing things across our television screens that are predictors of future events. The new movie on Netflix, Don't Look Up, is a good example. This movies is about the discovery of a comet that is on course to hit planet earth and become an extinction level event. The comet does his earth and it does kill the entire population.
The book of Revelation is a Biblical book that foretells the future. There are apocalyptic judgements coming to earth that will kill huge portions of the human race. For example, Revelation 8:10-11, describe a blazing star will fall from heaven and contaminate the earths fresh water supply and kills a large portion of humanity. The star is called Wormwood. How many movies have featured this theme of a comet or asteroid slamming into earth? It's called predictive programming.
Another news item has been in the news for months and it's the continuing volcanic eruptions in La Palma, the Canary Islands. The scientists are very concerned that a large chuck of the island could literally break off and slice into the see bringing 400 ft. tidal waves to New York and the entire eastern coast of America. Sound too far fetched? In Revelation 8 records this stunning prediction...
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
According to the Word of God these calamities are coming to planet earth during a time called the great tribulation.
